By the midst of the 19th century Henry David Thoreau withdrew from society with moving to a self-built wooden cabin at Lake Walden, Massachusetts. Reflecting upon simple living by immersing himself in nature, Thoreau hoped to gain a more objective understanding of society through personal introspection.

With various prototypical studies and test series, the goal was to bring the haptic experience closer to the feeling described by Thoreau and to make the new edition of the book a holistically exciting experience.
For the small edition of 6 pieces, all relevant work steps, from design to production, were carried out by hand.
Experiencing true Wilderness is an insanely attractive thought. Guided by Thoreau and reflected in context of todays society was quite exciting.
